The “Sunny Side”
Since many Sailors and Labourers during the past were working in and around the Nyhavn area and the many restaurants were filled with joyful visitors - the Nyhavn neighbourhood and surrounding quarters on the “Sunny Side” of Nyhavn Canal became a well-known and well recognised “Red light district” - which also was used by “sneaking” celebrities” and others that was looking for some fun and booze and pleasant company during a stay in Copenhagen and at Nyhavn.
